Biography
Jessica Alba noted as one of the most promising new comers of 1990s is an American actress with roles in movies like Honey, Dark Angel, Sin City, Fantastic Four, Into the Blue and Idle Hands to her credit. Her career took a leap when she landed the title character in James Cameron produced television series, Dark Angel (2000-02). Her popularity was on such a peak point that she is still sometimes recognized as the Dark Angel girl. Alba announced in December of 2007 that she was engaged to longtime boyfriend Cash Warren, and that she was pregnant with his child.
Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California to Mark Alba, an Air Force officer who is Mexican American and Catherine, a lifeguard who is part French and Danish. She has a brother named Joshua who is also an actor and appeared with her in the season one finale of Dark Angel. Her father's Air Force career took the family to Biloxi, Mississippi and Del Rio, Texas, before they settled back in California.
Due to Alba’s suffering from many health disorders, she was often isolated from children of her age. In fact, was suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder which got better once her family moved to California. She had been interested in acting since childhood and aptly took acting classes when she was 12 years old and got her first assignment just after nine months.
Career in Movies
She debuted as a child actress with a small role in 1994 feature Camp Nowhere as Gail following it up by appearing in two national TV commercials for Nintendo and J.C. Penney. Jessica also got briefly associated with television by starring in three episodes of the Nickelodeon comedy series The Secret World of Alex Mack and as Maya in the first two seasons of the TV series Flipper.
In the year 1998 there were more television appearances to her name like Brooklyn South, Beverly Hills 90210, and The Love Boat: The Next Wave. In addition, she also acted in the comedy flick, P.U.N.K.S.
Soon she completed her graduation and joined the William H. Macy and his wife, Felicity Huffman, at the Atlantic Theater Company, which was developed by Macy and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and film director, David Mamet.
She earned recognition for her roles in Drew Barrymore starrer romantic comedy Never Been Kissed (1999) and comedy-horror film Idle Hands, opposite Devon Sawa.
Her career’s crowning glory came as a lead role of genetically-engineered super-soldier, Max Guevara, on the FOX sci-fi TV series Dark Angel produced by famed director, James Cameron in 2000. She successfully played the character for 2 years before the series got cancelled in 2002. Jessica later revealed that while preparing for the role she went through obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Alba’s direction soon turned towards the moviedom and she worked in a variety of roles such as the dancer-choreographer in Honey, exotic dancer Nancy Callahan in Sin City and as the classic Marvel Comics character Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four.
She has graced the covers of various renowned magazines like GQ, and In Style and has been voted as the 2007’s Sexiest Woman in the World in FHM.
Raised as a catholic, she is still inclined towards spirituality and is proud of her heritage. Alba has expressed her desire to be in a relationship with an older man suggesting names like Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery, Robert Redford, and Michael Caine.

Thesun.co.uk reports that the film is the screen adaptation of Aimee Bender's bestseller by the same name. Alba plays Maths whiz Mona Gray, whose ordinary childhood comes to pieces when her father is stricken with a mysterious illness. The film also stars Chris Messina.

The story follows a West Texas sheriff (Affleck) and his downward spiral from a boring small-town cop into a ruthless, sociopathic murderer. Alba plays a prostitute.
The novel was made into a 1976 film starring Stacy Keach.
MuseFilm's Chris Hanley, Cyclone Prods.' Robert Weinbach, Revolution Films' Andrew Eaton and Bradford Schlei are producing the latest adaptation, which was written by Weinbach and John Curran.
Oklahoma-based Indion Entertainment Group is financing, as is Barbarian Films and OceaniaMedia Finance. A mid-January start date is being eyed. Wild Bunch is handling worldwide sales.

Honor Marie Warren was born Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Alba's father was overheard saying "she's beautiful." Warren — in a T-shirt, jeans and baseball cap — was spotted carrying food into the maternity ward Sunday.
